How long?

Q - If I hire a skip, how long can I keep it for?
A - Our standard hire period is one week although we can arrange extensions to this chargeable on a weekly basis.      

How much?

Q - How much will it cost to hire a skip?   
A - This will depend on the size of the skip, your post code and whether the skip will be on the public highway or private property.  For a simple guide please see the skip hire page, make the appropriate selections and this will give you a price.  Alternatively please give us a call.

What waste?

Q - What waste can I put into my skip?
A - Wastes that we do not accept are:
         Asbestos, tree roots, tyres

Hazardous wastes such as TV’s and monitors, florescent tubes, fridges or freezers. If you would like us to dispose of these items we can provide a separate price on application, if you require further clarification then please visit the Environment Agency website www.environment-agency.gov.uk

Where can it go?

Q - Where can I put my skip?
A - Most people arrange for the skip to be placed on their own property - usually on the driveway.  Skips that are placed on the road require a permit from the relevant local authority.  The permit period is fixed (usually one week) although this can be extended by agreement in most cases.  Local authorities charge for the issue of permits and extension, and we also provide lamps and cones for safety reasons.

Liability?

Q - What happens in the event of damage to my property?
A - Our drivers are experienced and well trained.  On occasions accidents do of course happen.  

Q - What is covered?
A - Obvious unnecessary accidental damage to buildings and other third party property where it is proven/agreed that our operator is at fault. 

Q - What is not covered?
A - Broken manhole covers, damage to underground drainage, damage to property i.e. driveways, lawns etc that are not constructed to highway specification, damage to any concealed overhead cables.

Lastly, please be aware that vehicles and waste containers delivered unladen impact differently on the surrounding areas than when they are collected full, therefore, full consideration should be given to the siting of the container in relation to obstacles such as garden walls, fences soft ground and most importantly local authority property.  As part of our conditions of hire the hirer accepts responsibility for directing any vehicle from the highway onto private property.  Our drivers may ask you to sign a disclaimer if there is any doubt/concern over the siting conditions.

With regard to liability we have a duty to be as clear as possible to our clients this clarity we feel protects the interests of both customer and supplier. 

We hold £10,000,00 public liability insurance.

Is my waste recycled?

Q - Is my waste recycled?
A - All waste is processed using our modern plant and equipment and where possible is recycled for use in other ways.  Examples of this are wood that is chipped and recycled for fuel at a major heating plant in Berkshire.  Rubble is recovered, crushed and recycled for use in the construction industry.
